Aging
The Glenfiddich 15 Year Distillery Edition spends its storage time in two different barrel types. First, the single malt matures in ex-Bourbon barrels. The whisky then gets its finish in noble, former Olosoro barrels. The barrels were made of American or Spanish oak and give the whisky a special character. The whisky is not filtered by refrigeration.
Nosing
In the smell of Glenfiddich 15 years Distillery Edition is floral-floral. The fruity character of the 15-year-old single malt is immediately noticeable. The scent of the whisky is accompanied by spicy tips of black pepper and a hint of vanilla, which easily rises into your nose.
Taste
The Distillery Edition of the 15-year-old single malt whisky by Glenfiddich is full-bodied. Especially the ripe fruits are present. The spicy balance is created by the freshly ground, black pepper when drinking (as was already the case when nosing). In addition, cream, hazelnut and fine malt are also used.
Finish
In the finish, the Glenfiddich 15 Year Distillery Edition is long-lasting and light on the tongue. Also thanks to the storage in the old sherry barrels, a fine sweetness and fruitiness dominate in particular. The complexity of the whisky is also noticeable – a touch of peat smoke rounds off the finish.
Perfect Serve
The Glenfiddich 15 Jahre Distillery Edition should be drunk pure and in a whisky glass. In order for the complex taste to unfold even better, you can add a few drops of water.
In order to keep the taste authentic, the Single Malt should not be drunk together with mixed drinks.
